WELCOME TO THE BEAN SHOT BLOG!

Who are we?

Here at Bean Shot, our goal is simple: To bring you Bloody Good Coffee.

Whether our expert baristas serve you a perfect pour on site in Sherborne, or you craft your own cup in the comfort of your own home using our independently sourced and locally roasted beans, we make sure (bloody-well sure!) that we do everything we can to bring out the best in every brew. Our consistently high standards, attention to detail and passion for our product means that our coffee has become well known for its high quality and amazing taste. However, we see our ‘product’ as more than just beans, it’s us too! We know our stuff, love our jobs and feel proud of our product. So - we thought to ourselves - why not find a way of sharing more of it, and of us, with you lovely people?

So, why a blog?

As wonderful as it is to shoot the breeze with our beautiful customers in person and, when the opportunity presents itself, to geek out on all things coffee, there are some topics of conversation that deserve a bit more time and thought. We sense that there is an appetite not only for our Bloody Good Coffee (and assortment of delicious, sweet treats and savoury snacks), but also for coffee-related information, advice, and guidance. So … Bloody Good Coffee Content...? Well, here at Bean Shot, we’re more than happy to help.

We’ve also noticed a distinct lack of customer-friendly, easily digestible information on how to find, make and enjoy consistently great coffee. Too often we hear of uptight, snobbish, know-it-all baristas looking down their noses at an innocent question or scoffing at a customer’s ‘uncool’ order or preference. We hope to challenge this stereotype and fill this void by offering accessible information to help the newbie enthusiast get started on their coffee journey, and enough expert know-how to give true aficionados some food for thought.

What to expect ...

Just as you can expect to find on any visit to our store, in the blogs that follow you will see passion, care and expertise delivered with a sense of (mostly) good humour. To us, the world of coffee is an inclusive, accepting and friendly space in which we encourage everyone to learn, appreciate and, most importantly, enjoy every cup of - and conversation about - coffee.

So, if you enjoy good food, delicious drinks, and fine flavours, then this blog is for you. If you want to further understand the coffee-making process from crop to cup, then this blog is for you. If you would like to discover more about the ways we fine tune our coffee making processes, how we implement them in the shop and how you can best replicate them at home, then this blog is for you. If you just find coffee fascinating and want to learn something new, this blog is for you. If you like trains….. yeah, sorry, wrong place ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ but check out this guy … https://www.instagram.com/francis_bourgeois43/
