The story of this coffee begins with the company ‘Fair Coffee Ethioco’, a journey that started 30 years ago with owner Mr. Bogale Mengistu. His influence has permeated the coffee industry, inspiring a tradition of excellence that continues to this day.

In 2018, the ‘Fair Coffee Ethioco Exporting Company’ was established, deeply rooted in the coffee paradise of Yirgacheffe, a region celebrated worldwide for its distinctive floral coffee profile. The coffee farm, spread across 20 hectares of lush terrain, is nestled in the highlands of the picturesque Ressiti kebele, neighboring the famed Aricha Kebele. This unique location, with an altitude range of 1900m – 2200m, provides the perfect conditions for the growth of exceptional Yirgacheffe coffees.

This coffee comes in both washed and sun-dried varieties (we have the Natural Sun Dried variety), meticulously handpicked to ensure the highest quality. The handpicking process serves a dual purpose, not only guaranteeing quality but also providing employment to over 150 local women, an initiative by the company of providing work to local women. This directly supports local families, highlighting the coffee's impact extending beyond its taste.

This new lot is an exquisite Ethiopian coffee with an impressive Specialty Coffee Association (SCA) score of 88. This coffee encapsulates all the desirable characteristics of a Yirgacheffe brew – it's beautiful, clean, and supremely satisfying. The beans are sun-dried on high raised beds, a process that enhances the depth, complexity and flavour of the coffee's profile.
